Abstract :
In the single carrier block transmission based on E-band transmission system, the cyclic prefix (CP) was removed to increase transmission efficiency. However, the received signal suffers from inter-symbol interference (ISI) and inter-block interference (IBI) introduced by frequency-selective fading channel, which cannot be efficiently suppressed directly by frequency-domain equalization (FDE). In this paper, based on the analysis of IBI distribution in the symbol block, we proposed a novel frequency-domain equalization technique by picking up only the central part from the equalized symbol block to avoid IBI. Computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve a good BER performance in E-band transmission system and provides higher transmission efficiency than conventional FDE, although at the expense of increased system complexity.
