Abstract :
Summary from only given. Transverse patterning of periodic gratings for quasi-phase- matching (QPM) has been used to increase the tuning range of devices (through fanned gratings), to shape the amplitude profile of an interacting beam, and to create two-dimensional periodic QPM structures (nonlinear photonic crystals) for efficient noncollinear mixing.
