Abstract :
Recently introduced Lorentz-based chaotic waveforms possess many desirable radar characteristics. In this paper we examine their detectability. We consider two passive detectors of radar emissions - square-law and delay-multiply detectors. We measure through simulations the probability of detection as a function of signal to noise ratio and compare chaotic waveforms with traditional Frank 16 waveforms and somewhat more modern spread spectrum inspired radar waveforms.
