Reproducibility, traceability and uncertainty of dielectric measurements using automated vector network analysis

Methods for determining the residual directivity and linearity in an HP8510C based dielectric measurement system are examined. A comparison is made between estimating the linearity from multiple calibrated fixed attenuators and by a fixed frequency step attenuator. The effect of calibration technique is also investigated by measuring the linearity following both sliding load and thru-reflect-line methods
