  • Abstract
In this paper, the topologies and control techniques of the AC voltage regulator modules (AC VRMs) which are currently available for the applications of the high frequency power distribution systems are reviewed. It is found that the series resonant converter employed with a series AC switch is the best choice among all the candidates. The steady-state characteristics of this topology are derived. Different modulation techniques applied to this topology are investigated. Experimental results are presented as the proof-of-concept.
