Abstract :
This paper investigates the problem of load estimation in unbalanced power distribution networks. A weighted least square (WLS) approach with multiple load parameters is designed to solve a constrained estimation problem. Detailed test results on a 20-bus, unbalanced, radial distribution network are presented and show promise. The results obtained from the proposed method are compared with those from a distribution state estimation based method.
