Abstract :
This paper presents an algorithm for detection and characterization of voltage sag on transmission and distribution lines. A Discrete Wavelet Transform is utilized to extract voltage sag disturbances from fundamental 50 Hz, which detects magnitude, duration, and Point on Wave initiation of voltage sag. This algorithm is simulated in MATALAB and the results are presented at various magnitudes and Point on Wave initiations.
