Abstract :
Summary form only given. This key-note presentation begins with the introduction of critical technologies driving smartphone and tablet markets such as increasingly demanding CPU performance, wireless and wired connectivity requirements, memory capacity and bandwidth, display/multimedia performance and longer usage time - which requires sophisticated low power design techniques. It is demonstrated that performance and cost are always the two major factors to drive these innovations and technologies. Design considerations and technology trends are highlighted with recent development in high speed and low power circuits and VLSI/chip implementations, analog, power management, mixed-signal and RF circuits and systems, and challenges in designing with advanced IC fabrication processes and package technologies.
