Abstract :
Knowing real-time tracking information is of necessity for bus operator and its passenger. In this paper, we propose the conceptual framework of RFID sensor network system designed specifically for bus fleet monitoring and scheduling in the Bangkok city. There are essentially three components for the system: active vehicle tag (B-Mov), RFID reader or base station (B-Base), and the control system (Enterprise server). We design and develop the communication protocols, packet format as well as the operational functions to fully support the real-time bus scheduling and monitoring application. This enhances the robustness and reliability of the proposed system.
