Abstract
Existing design supporting systems can be improved by giving the user the opportunity to define properties of the system or its components also in vague, linguistic or fuzzy ways. This can be achieved by using fuzzy hierarchies. Conflicting goals can be taken into account by including fuzzy MADM (multiple attribute decision making) methods into the system. The application of fuzzy MADM methods regarding the design process is considered
