  • Abstract
The application of fuzzy technology to control problems, data analysis, decision problems and many other application-oriented problems was done successfully during the last years. There are, however, only few papers dealing with the application of fuzzy set theory in the area of engineering design and configuration problems. In real-world design or configuration problems, dealing with imprecision is becoming more and more important, if we want to approach intelligent decision support systems. More precisely, integration of fuzzy set theory and methods with the successfully applied techniques of the knowledge-based systems will generate a new application oriented topic of the fuzzy logic-fuzzy design
