Abstract :
Design and analysis of a novel two-phase 4/5 Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) is presented in this paper. The proposed motor is employed 4-stator and 5-rotor poles. The stator pole configuration is sustained the magnetic flux of the motor to flow through the shortest path. The proposed motor has no dead-zone and can operate in any rotor position. Two types of air-gap in the rotor poles surface are used in this paper. The comparison between the proposed motor and the conventional SRM is undertaken in this analysis. Furthermore, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and matlab software are used to predict and simulate the performance of the proposed motor. The results indicate that the proposed structure is offers a new SRM configuration with betters performance in term of torque production.
