  • Abstract
    A novel study on monitoring system of car-guardrail collision accident building by wireless sensor networks is introduced in this paper. According to the research on the collision features of the simulation of car-guardrail, it is found that the vibration features of the guardrail within the accident have a good performance to the accident identification. The vibration data of the guardrail are recorded real-timely by the nodes with accelerator sensors on the guardrail via the ad-hoc network. Then the collision accident is identified in terms of the vibration threshold, and almost synchronously the image node roadside is triggered to take continuous pictures at the spot and transfer them to the remote control center. The performance of the proposed scheme was tested on the northern Fifth Ring in Beijing of China, and proved to be practical.
