Abstract :
Summary from only given. We have discussed polarization multiplexing for increased spectral efficiency and gain-shifted Tm-doped fibre amplifiers (TDFAs) for optical band expansion, technologies that enabled up to and over 10-Tbit/s capacity. Inter-band Raman scattering was also referred to as a critical issue in wideband WDM transmission.
