Abstract :
In advent with the advancement of technology in automotive industries, road safety has been improved continuously for decades. One of those technologies is vehicular radar which helps drivers detecting the obstruction in blind spot so that they can avoid harmful collision. Although radar technology is very useful, we have to concern that radar is spectrum using technology. Spectrum is a national scarce resource that needs to manage and regulate efficiently. Moreover, automotive industries are worldwide industries, and we need to learn both technology and spectrum allocation from other countries especially from countries having major roles in this industry and harmonize the operating frequency band in vehicular radar technology. This paper mainly discusses about the status of vehicular radar in selected countries and compares with that of Thailand. We also present the technical overview and conclude with recommendation for guideline in regulating vehicular radar technology in Thailand.
