Abstract
Summary from only given. A VCSEL with In/sub 0.2/Ga/sub 0.8/As active layers and AlAs/GaAs DBR mirrors was used in the experiment. A novel all-optical 3R regeneration using an ultrafast polarization bistable VCSEL has been proposed. We are now conducting the experiments on such 3R regeneration at 10 Gbit/s.
