Abstract
This paper outlines the interest of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the area of safety of persons employed to install or maintain aeronautical ground lighting (AGL) systems on aerodromes. Since AGL provide flightcrew with visual cues to assist the safe landing, take-off and surface movement of aircraft at an aerodrome, it is essential that the performance of the AGL be maintained correctly. Therefore, the presence and actions of persons during installation or maintenance should not affect the integrity of the visual cues
