Abstract :
The AlphaStation 800 5/300 workstation (Alcor) is a high-performance, system using the DECchip 21164 Alpha AXP microprocessor. A crossbar switch implemented in CMOS ASICs provides high-bandwidth, low-latency interconnects between the CPU, main memory and the I/0 subsystem. This paper describes the design of the Alcor system.
