Abstract
Modern materials of nuclear installations are high resistant to general corrosion but they are very sensitive to specific types of electrochemical corrosion, e.g. pitting formation. This paper studies the stress concentration caused by corrosion pit on the outer surface of a thick spherical member. Stress calculations are performed using ANSYS.2.
