Abstract
The overall concerns and methods of analysis for bus transfer schemes involving induction motors are described. The problems of the motor voltage after disconnection and multiple motors on a common bus and the effects of power factor correction capacitors are reviewed. The types of bus transfers, applicable industry standards, shaft torsional analysis and the results of a dynamic study of bus transfer on a 250 hp motor are discussed.<>
