Abstract :
In this work we have examined, experimentally and theoretically, the possibility to trap and manipulate spherical micro- and nanoparticles suspended in water by using two evanescent optical waves. The waves are created by total internal reflection of two counter-propagating focused laser beams from the surface of the substrate.
