Abstract
This paper describes a finite element (FE) procedure to compute the performance of a controlled induction machines (IM). The choice of the reference frame for the FE solutions corresponds to the rotor flux oriented reference frame. Thanks to the particular analysis strategy, only magnetostatic FE simulations are used to reduce the computation time. The use of magnetostatic simulations allows the saturation effects in all the machine parts to be taken into account during all computations. Experimental tests are included in the paper to confirm the accuracy of the predictions achieved by the proposed analysis.
