Abstract
This paper presents a study of wireless ad hoc networks dynamic behavior. Based on some works already done in the area of dimensioning wireless ad hoc networks, we perform some simulations to show what the effects of various changes in the network can do to the its overall performance. Increasing the number of simultaneous streams flowing in the network causes congestion spots especially close to the gateways. However, the addition of more gateways increases the average throughput of the network. The simulation tool employed was network simulator (NS-2)
