Abstract :
This paper proposes an interleaved boost converter with coupled inductor for PV power system. The proposed converter separately adopts coupled inductor and interleaved manner to achieve high step-up voltage ratio and powering capability. To recover the energy trapped in leakage inductor of coupled inductor, an active clamp circuit is used in the proposed converter for increasing conversion efficiency. Moreover, the proposed converter adopts boost type snubber to achieve soft-switching features at light load condition and to decrease loss duty at heavy load condition. As compared with the conventional interleaved coupled- inductor boost converter with active clamp circuit, the proposed converter can attain a wider operational ranges with soft-switching features and avoid a more serious loss duty. Finally, a prototype under output power of 1 kW and output voltage of 400 V has been implemented to prove the feasibility of the proposed converter.
