Abstract
A programmable sense amplifier for ROMs and its realization in the microcode ROM of the NS322532 microprocessor are described. The use of this circuit permits the reduction of the ROM´s bit line capacitance, access time, and power consumption. This approach of tailoring the ROM data is general and can improve ROM circuit performance significantly. It is easily implemented by CAD tools.<>
