Abstract :
Accuracy and stability of speed estimation and control in a wide range of speed in several conditions especially in braking-mode is necessary for some applications such as traction electrical motors control. In this paper, MRAS-based speed estimation is concerned as a sensorless speed estimation technique for an induction machine controlled by field-oriented control (FOC) algorithm. Since MRAS speed estimator does never work with arbitrary parameters, here a new method has been proposed for PI parameters assignment. The introduced method uses a predictive and adaptive technique that has improved the performance of MRAS-based speed estimator. Operation of this method will be evaluated by simulation results. Its performance on braking-mode and speed reversal will be discussed and some issues will be presented for its improvement.
