Abstract :
With traditional signal generators, it´s difficult to solve the problems of fine frequency resolution, fast switching between output frequencies, phase continuous, low noise etc. This paper designs a Quartus II-based DDS which can easily generate a variety of FM signals. During the generation of ROM look-up table of sine wave in Quartus II, the compression optimization is used. With a suitable FPGA, the designed DDS is simulated. The simulation results are consistent with the theoretical analysis. The DDS designed by this method has great flexibility, can meet user´s special requirements, and therefore has a wide range prospect of applications.
