Abstract
This paper discusses representations of signals and systems in a rational orthogonal basis called generalized Kautz basis. It is shown that the computation of the coefficients in this basis can be performed by applying FFT to appropriately transformed system transfer function. Approximation properties in H2 and H∞ norms using partial sum operators is investigated, too
