Abstract :
A pulsed power generator has been developed based on the circuit configuration of linear transformer driver (LTD). A total number of 720 power MOSFETs have been used as switches in a stack of 30 LTD modules. The solid-state components allow repetitive operation with good stability and long lifetime. In addition, the semiconductor switches can be actively turned off enabling pulse length control. In fact different modules can be switched at different times so that a variety of waveforms can be synthesized by using this solid-state LTD.
