Abstract
High-production control system requirements (low work-piece throughput time, low operation-cycle time, low production downtime), servo-based motion technology (precision electric servo motors, feedback transducers, servo amplifiers), and the overall machine design guidelines are discussed. Suggestions are presented for determining the optimum control system cost/benefit balance.<>
