Abstract :
The nature of task-oriented application design and the rationale in building interactive design support tools are discussed. A model-based approach for the representation of design knowledge is introduced. The approach comprises an end-user task model, a problem domain data model, and an interaction domain model. These models are mapped onto an object hierarchy, allowing the construction of a design knowledge base with reusable objects
