Abstract :
The paper presents an analysis of a biaxial excitation generator/motor for automobiles (BEGA) using the tooth flux method. By use of finite element calculation, the tooth flux and the armature winding flux linkage of BEGA can be exactly calculated. Furthermore, the value and waveform of electromotive force (EMF) and the electromagnetic torque of BEGA are obtained. In the paper, the effects of the saliency, saturation, slotting and winding layouts are included. Finally, the characteristic of BEGA is analyzed and improving solution is discussed.
