            Abstract : 
This paper presents simplified formulas for performance analysis of two popular high resolution methods : MUSIC and min norm. These formulas are derived for linear arrays in the cases of a single source and two closely spaced sources. Two estimates of the cross spectral matrix (CSM) are treated: the Wishart distributed one obtained by averaging the Fourier transformed data, and the Toeplitz one obtained by averaging the Wishart distributed CSM estimate along its diagonals
