Abstract :
Recently, lead free materials are being extensively investigated to replace the PZT ceramics. Potassium niobate (KNbO3) single crystals were successfylly grown by the TSSG technique. However, potassium niobate has problems of three phase transition temperatures (cubic to tetragonal, tetragonal to orthorhombic and orthorhombic-rhombohedoral), the orthorhombic structure at room temperature and complicated domain structures. To improve these properties of this potassium niobate, (K,Na,Li)(Nb,Ta)O3 has been grown by the TSSG method.
