Abstract :
An analytical model for bit error rate (BER) evaluation of the time invariant frequency selective indoor channel is developed for a coherent binary phase shift keying receiver. BER performance for the millimetre wave channel is computed, based on impulse response models derived from measurements. The performance appears to be predictable, depending on the power-delay-profile type and the Rice K-factor of the channel. Multiple antenna performance is analysed and compared for antenna selection diversity and multiple antenna signal combining. It is shown that signal combining results in substantial performance improvement, whereas selection diversity appears to be less promising
