Abstract :
A novel image registration algorithm based on straight-lines is presented in this paper. Firstly, we transform the straight lines in the image space into points in the Hough parameter space using Hough transform. Then we propose an approach that simultaneously determines the correspondences between the points and solves for the parameters involved in the registration transformation function in Hough space. Experiments are conducted on both synthetic and real-world images and experimental results reveal that the algorithm is robust and efficient for most images rich with line features.
