Abstract :
In the conventional models for the analysis of power system with low frequency oscillation(LFO), excitation systems are considered as the main components that cause the LFOs, the effect of prime moves and governors are usually ignored. The effect of different prime moves and governors on different oscillation modes is little, but great in damping. So the effect of prime moves and governors on the LFOs can´t be ignored. In this paper, the LFO models are proposed considering prime moves and governors. The simulation of IEEE9 system and the actual Yunnan Power Grid is respectively carried. The results obtained by using eigenvalue and relativity method and it show that the prime moves and governors do have influence on the LFOs of Yunnan Power Gird.
