Abstract :
Phased-arrays are often complicated, expensive devices which can be justified only for demanding applications such as military radars. However, the falling prices of CAD tools, digital and RF electronic components, and software development products makes the development of phased-arrays for a wide range of application economically feasible. The new ship-borne profiler is scheduled for field trials in 2000
