Abstract
To aid the corrosion diagnosis of a grounding grid, test poles are suggested to implant on some nodes. A genetic algorithm based test poles allocation optimization approach is suggested to work out the set of schemes to make all of the branches clear with the least test poles. The N-X+Y principle is put forward, with which, the test pole allocation scheme to make as much as possible branches clear when X of the test poles broken can be selected from the set of allocation schemes making all of the branches clear and with Y more test poles than the least needed. The test poles planning approach to make all of the branches clear and allowing a large scale grounding grid to be split into several small scale sub-networks to test separately is also discussed. A grounding grid with sixty branches is used as an example to show the feasibility of the proposed approaches.
