  • Abstract
Two methods have been carried out for the analysis of SF6/N2 gas mixture decomposition by-products in electric discharges: infrared spectroscopy and gas chromatography. The infrared spectroscopy is a rapid method from which we can have qualitative analysis about all the products in a mixture, except those having the same absorption lines. Besides, the gas chromatography needs more time and experiments than the infrared spectroscopy, but it is the best method to have quantitative analysis of each SF6/N2 by-product with precision. So, we would not discriminate any of these two analytical methods which are complementary
