Abstract
This paper presents a novel layered group space- time multiuser detection (MUD) with the assistance of partial soft information (PSI) for the uplink of multiple- input multiple output (MIMO) code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. The proposed MUD first employs a simple channel-strength criterion to order the groups. Thereafter, it conducts a block layer cancellation scheme to remove the layered group space-time signals. Also, to mitigate the performance loss resulting from the group processing, the proposed MUD makes use of the PSI fed back from the previous group to detect the symbols in each group. Simulation results demonstrate that the new MUD can offer a substantial performance gain over pervious works.
