Abstract
In this paper, a novel resource allocation algorithm (CPFAH) for future wideband mobile communication systems is proposed. The basic idea is to schedule mobile stations according to their respective retransmission times. Thus the retransmission delay can be reduced and user fairness can be maintained. The algorithm takes the advantage of conventional performance-enhancing methods, e.g. frequency hopping, adaptive modulation & coding and H-ARQ by packet scheduling; in the meanwhile it can conquer their drawbacks. Furthermore, simulation results are presented and exhibit the performance improvement. At the end of the paper, the authors discuss and list some ongoing work
