  • Abstract
    Data compression method has been a hot issue in the field of image processing. This paper presents the improvement of the effectiveness of image compression by using wavelet transform technology instead of the discrete cosine transform(DCT) technology which has been adopted by MPEG as image compression standard. A set of wireless video surveillance system which has been developed on base of the theory studied in this paper validate the theory.
