Title :
Menu planning using the exchange diet system
Author :
Martinez-Alfaro, H.
Abstract :
This work is focused on individual menu planning for non-therapeutic adult diets. A step-by-step methodology for modeling the problem as a mixed integer linear problem is proposed and tested with four different subjects by reading their preferences, building the model in Excel and solving it with a commercial MILP solver. The preference function to be maximized is the sum of the piece wise linear approximations of the quadratic frequency-preference function for each of the menu items available for assignment.
