Abstract :
The multiband approach in loudspeaker equalization has the advantage of being able to produce a very flat equalized response. However, its complex structure makes it impractical for low-cost loudspeaker implementation. In this paper, a tri-band equalization method is proposed. The method uses warped filter equalization to enhance the frequency resolution thereby reducing the need for having many equalization sub-bands. A technique has also been developed to adjust the warping effective region to a wider range. Computer simulation results show that the proposed method is able to improve the performance of the equalized response
