Abstract :
The application of Ultra-Wideband (UWB) sensors is a new method for on-line monitoring of transformer winding radial deformations. The measurements of received signals from a simplified model of the transformer winding demonstrate the high sensitivity of the proposed method to detect winding deformations. The proper position of transmitter and receiver antennas on the transformer tank is an important problem for the monitoring system. This problem has been studied in this paper.
