Abstract :
In this paper a two-dimensional Schrodinger simulator devised for the analysis of steady state coherent transport in electron devices is presented. The simulator provides the solution of the time-independent Schrodinger equation inside a generic two-dimensional system with closed- or open-boundary conditions. The solution is determined in presence of a generic potential energy profile and, optionally, of a constant magnetic field in the perpendicular direction. The program has been applied to the solution of simple two-dimensional problems, chosen as representative sketches of physical situations of practical interest.
