Abstract
The authors present a new methodology for partitioning long local computer networks. The proposed technique relies on dividing the long network into subnets that are interconnected using a multistage delta interconnection network and an interface device. The performance of the proposed partitioning method is studied using simulation modeling. It is found that the throughput of the proposed partitioned network is improved and the average packet delay is reduced as compared to the single long network
