  • Abstract
In this paper a state model of the set made up of a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) and a DC/DC converter is studied. The set is modeled as a plant controlled by the converter duty cycle. The paper has used a method based on state space for controlling the output voltage from converter terminals and set on working point. In this paper is utilized from optimal linear regulator for quadratic performance index (LQR) for designing state feedback. The LQR algorithm takes care of the tedious work done by the control systems engineer in optimizing the controller. This method, leads to determine Ricatti equation response. After simulation with state feedback controller, it is observed that by changing load current as input, the output voltage remains constant. The simulation results show the proposed controller exhibit a higher efficiency compared to conventional PI controller.
