Abstract :
Location based services can be considered as the most rapidly expanding field of the mobile communications sector. Many corporations have developed software to support LBS. In this paper, we present a new architecture, which not only provides location but also provides services based on location. It also supports service logic written by other service providers. The platform is compatible of 2G/2.5G/3G and WLAN (wireless local area network). The paper focuses on the architecture, and the components in the platform are detailed. Issues such as scalability, portability is also considered in the design of the platform
